Job summary

ALKEGEN in Tonawanda, NY is seeking a Plant Operator B to support specialty fiber production. You will handle material movement, follow instructions, and help maintain safety and quality on a 12-hour swing shift. Training and cross-functional coverage may be required.

Responsibilities include operating basic material handling equipment, recording usage and productivity, and assisting in training and coverage across production areas while upholding the company’s safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shift (4 on/4 off).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Must be able to learn and use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling at designated workstations with basic operating proficiency.
• Follow work instructions and meet productivity standards.
• Report material usage and daily productivity metrics.
• Complete safety assessments and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and safe equipment and work environment.
• Assist in training new Plant Operator B crew members.
• Provide relief coverage for other production areas.
• Support higher proficiency tasks for Plant Operator A.
• Uphold safety standards and PPE compliance.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
