Job summary

Alkegen in Tonawanda, NY is seeking a Plant Operator B to perform a variety of manufacturing tasks for specialty fiber materials. The role involves operating in a 12-hour swing shift, maintaining productivity and safety, and assisting in basic quality testing as needed.

We train on the job and rotate functions to meet operational needs. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, and strong safety adherence is required for all duties and environments.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Able to work a 12-hour swing shift (4 on/4 off, rotating days/nights).
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling in designated workstations with basic proficiency.
• Follow written work instructions and meet productivity standards.
• Report material usage and daily productivity metrics.
• Complete safety assessments and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain clean, safe equipment and organized work areas.
• Assist in training new Plant Operator B team members.
• Provide relief coverage for other production areas as needed.
• Promote Alkegen safety principles and PPE requirements.
