LyondellBasell Industries in Edison, NJ, is seeking an Operator to monitor plant process equipment in the Edison-Lyo facility. You will evaluate unit status, troubleshoot processes, document operating parameters, and coordinate with team members to maximize reliable production.

Applicants must work outdoors in all weather, perform 12-hour rotating shifts, and join the Emergency Response Team. Safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement are core focuses of this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts with overtime.
• Capable of climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces and from elevated platforms; can wear protective equipment including respirators.
• Critical competencies: communication, teamwork, problem solving, decision-making, results orientation, initiative, relationship building, and technological orientation.
• Basic computer skills are also a requirement; proof of valid driver license required.

Responsabilités

• Own the unit to ensure production rates and right-first-time results are maximized; keep unit in proper operating condition.
• Take readings and monitor plant data; observe process conditions to maintain good unit control.
• Provide accurate and timely communication to co-workers and collaborate with other functions to improve performance.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and enter SAP work notifications for maintenance needs.
• Place systems in safe condition for maintenance and communicate status to shift supervisor and coworkers.
• Participate in investigations, policy development, and groups aimed at improving the workplace environment.
• Assist in training and skill development of other operations technicians.
• Engage in developmental dialogue with supervisor and others to continually enhance performance.
