Job Description:

This position in the Facilities Management department requires demonstrated expertise in plant operations and maintenance. Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.

Regardless of specialty, a Plant Operator II may perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with projects.

Essential Functions

1. Operate, maintain, and repair the hospital's boiler and chiller systems, including water treatment, system inspections, and maintenance.
2. Perform or lead boiler and chiller teardown and major maintenance activities.
3. Plan and execute winterizing of chillers and cooling towers, troubleshoot HVAC controls, and ensure cleanliness of work areas.
4. Communicate effectively with staff at all levels and manage workload efficiently with minimal supervision.
5. Submit timekeeping documentation accurately and promptly.
6. Maintain extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
