ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary responsible for the plant operator is operating the materials processing equipment that produces the product for sale in a sand and gravel or a quarry operation.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  1. Using a computer or manual controls to operate primary or secondary crushing or other plant equipment in order to meet site production needs.
  2. Visually observe and monitor gauges etc., of all equipment while in operation to maintain proper flow of material on belts, crushers and screens.
  3. Walk around the plant, observing the plant, monitoring the size, quality of the materials, looking for anomalies.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  5. Perform clean up, perform greasing of bearings, assist team members with plant mode changes, and perform repairs as needed.
  6. May run a front end loader or other material handling equipment to charge the plant with aggregate, sand and other materials.
  7. Maintain strong communication with quality personnel and make adjustment to material blends as required.
  8. Communicate all safety, maintenance and production needs.
  9. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  1. Highly dependable, ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  2. Ability to learn plant flow, plant operations and screening.
  3. Experienced with operating/maintaining and troubleshooting materials plants preferred.
  4. Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  5. Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions.
  6. Previous experience in a construction or quarry environment is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
