Job summary

Mason-Dixon Sand & Gravel LLC is seeking a Plant Operator to safely operate a sand and gravel processing plant and maximize production for construction projects. You will handle daily production reporting and assist with basic maintenance, including greasing and lubricating equipment and ensuring housekeeping.

The role requires experience with aggregate plants, ability to read and follow safety procedures, and basic computer skills for record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work day shift and overtime/weekends as necessary.
• Prior experience operating an aggregate plant.
• Experience with aggregate screens, conveyors, washers-scrubbers and centrifugal pumps is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform plant record keeping.

Responsibilities

Description

General Summary:

The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a Sand and Gravel processing plant in order to maximize the production of sand and gravel for the construction industry. A Plant Operator is responsible for daily production reporting and assists with basic maintenance activities including greasing and lubricating process equipment, plant housekeeping and machinery maintenance and repair.

Essential Functions:

• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on plant equipment.
• Ability to be able to assist with plant repairs, maintenance and housekeeping.
• Maintain material quality.
• Maintains constant awareness of safety, efficiency and displays a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.
• Communicate production and maintenance needs to plant management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Day shift position, must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

• Experience with aggregate screens, conveyors, material washers-scrubbers and centrifugal pumps a plus.

• The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
• Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.

Physical Demands

• Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Travel

• May be required to work at various facilities
