Description

This position’s primary focus will be the safe and reliable operation of a renewable natural gas (RNG) plant. The plant operator will ensure communications are maintained between plant personnel and local landfill staff. They will support plant operations, construction, and well field tuning. Responsibilities include interfacing with a SCADA/HMI system, performing analytical tests, and technical maintenance work to support plant operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and support activities for an RNG plant in a landfill setting.
• Record, analyze, and utilize plant data for optimization.
• Maintain safety standards in plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, operate, and replace equipment, including preventive maintenance.
• Maintain proper instrument calibration.
• Maintain well field database and records.
• Collect, test, and analyze samples for process control.
• Monitor and adjust well field to maintain gas output and quality.
• Assist operational staff in identifying well field issues.
• Support engineering staff with construction planning and gas expansion.
• Maintain positive relationships with plant and landfill personnel.
• Ensure adequate staffing and professional communication with stakeholders.
• Report adverse events promptly.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience with landfill gas to energy or LFG to RNG.
• Experience in chemical or gas processing.
• Experience in landfill operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Leadership qualities and ability to manage priorities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel (up to 10%).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean record.
