Job summary

Western Midstream, located in Douglas, WY, seeks a Gas Plant Operator to join the Steamboat Gas Plant Operations team. This 12-hour rotating shift role requires living within 50 miles of Douglas and involves working indoors and outdoors around heavy equipment.

Responsibilities include starting/stopping equipment, analyzing gas streams, maintaining production and safety systems, and generating daily production reports. A high school diploma is required with 0–10% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year gas plant operations or related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas operations and natural gas processing facilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.
• Computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and enforce all safety and environmental regulations.
• Execute startup, shutdown and operating procedures for engines, compressors, furnaces, distillation towers, expanders, electric motors, fans, pumps, instrumentation, valves, and alarms.
• Analyze flow streams using a gas chromatograph and product samples to adjust processes and maintain product specs.
• Perform minor maintenance of compressors, engines, pumps, controls, piping, and valves.
• Prepare maintenance orders and notify maintenance personnel of problem areas.
• Generate daily production reports including liquid production, downtime, and gas volumes.
• Monitor and maintain inlet and outlet volumes; coordinate with gas control, field operations and third-party interests.
• Complete assigned reports and logs.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts inside and outside around heavy equipment and in variable conditions.
• Monitor, maintain, and operate safety and fire protection systems.
• Contribute to Western Midstream Core Values and Health Safety and Environmental culture.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
