Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA is seeking a Plant Operator to maintain and operate hospital power and building systems. You will respond to emergencies, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure reliable utilities supporting patient care.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and maintenance or boiler room experience. You will join a dedicated facilities team that values safety, reliability and teamwork in a critical healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous boiler room/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start and stop power plant equipment according to an established policy.
• Determine problems with equipment malfunctions. Make minor repairs.
• Handle emergency failures of essential utilities such as emergency power, water, gas, and other.
• Run building status and print and file information.
• Make engineering rounds every two hours and log findings in logbook. Pass on any necessary information to relief supervisor.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls.
• Other duties as assigned.
