Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA seeks a maintenance technician to manage boiler room operations and ensure reliable essential services. You will start/stop power plant equipment, perform minor repairs, and handle emergency failures to keep hospital operations running smoothly.

Daily duties include monitoring building status, conducting regular rounds every two hours, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Boiler room or maintenance experience preferred.

What you will do in this role:

• Start and stop power plant equipment according to an established policy.


• Determine problems with equipment malfunctions. Make minor repairs.


• Handle emergency failures of essential utilities such as emergency power, water, gas, and other.


• Run building status and print and file information.


• Make engineering rounds every two hours and log findings in logbook. Pass on any necessary information to relief supervisor.


• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.


• Respond to emergency maintenance calls.


• Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma or equivalent


• Previous Boiler Room/Maintenance experience preferred
