Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager in Indiana to lead site reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance while delivering production plans.

You will oversee maintenance, manage budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential to align with Messer's safety culture and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Technical College Degree or equivalent formal education and certification related to a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years in Industrial/Plant operations/maintenance experience.
• Engineering degree preferred (optional).

Responsibilities

• Manage site compliance to management system; serve as Safety, Health, Environmental and Emergency Coordinator; QC Designee; Document Manager; and CAPA administrator.
• Ensure all changes to equipment or procedures follow EMOC procedure.
• Ensure the HWP process, LOTO and energy isolation procedures are adhered to by all employees and contractors.
• Manage all waste streams leaving site to comply with government regulation.
• Manage storage of hazardous materials at site in accordance with government regulation.
• Host internal and external audits and document corrective actions.
• Maintain site security and orderliness.
• Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance activities and interact with scheduling, reliability and engineering teams.
• Provide turnaround scopes to scheduling, sales, reliability group and others.
• Maintain Shutdown and Turnaround work lists and schedules.
• Ensure reliable plant operations and execution of production plans.
• Inventory management of bulk liquid storage and training of staff.
• Interpret engineering and electrical drawings including P&IDs and One Line Diagrams.
