Job summary

ERMCO in Athens, GA is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all plant operations across fabrication, core manufacturing, and three shifts. You will develop strategies to increase productivity, ensure product quality, and promote a safety-first culture.

This role requires extensive manufacturing leadership, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with Training, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent military service with 4+ years leadership experience.
• 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably heavy industrial or electrical product assembly.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily activities for production departments to meet targets including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Build and lead high-performing teams that monitor and own their KPIs.
• Hire, manage performance, plan workforce, and develop employees.
• Communicate operating plans, priorities, and KPIs to drive engagement and accountability.
• Collaborate with Training, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering for alignment and efficiency.
• Use Infor LN and other systems to track production performance and drive data-driven improvements.
• Promote ERMCO’s safety-first culture and address incidents promptly.
• Champion lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, visual management, standard work, and Kaizen.
• Assist HR in manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, and cross-training.
• Own manufacturing cost performance, labor efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Provide timely coaching and corrective actions; enforce ERMCO policies.
• Manage departmental budgets and assist in annual plant operating budgets.
• Support capital planning and improvement projects.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance across all shifts.
