Job summary

Biewer Lumber is seeking an Operations Manager in Lansing, MI to lead site supervisors and staff, ensuring safety, process efficiency and quality across production, inventory, and shipping. The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years in industrial/manufacturing leadership, a bachelor's degree or equivalent supervisory experience, and a track record of Lean manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Promote a continuous improvement culture through communication and coaching employees and identifying opportunities to streamline material handling.
• Lead manufacturing principles and events with supervision.
• Strengthen and develop supervision and staff by managing responsibilities and accountability.
• Manage safety and health factors in all processes and ensure safe work practices and proper forms and permits.
• Plan current and future production or material flows to maximize equipment use and efficiency.
• Create and maintain operational spreadsheets, reports, budgets and regulatory tracking.
• Organize departmental meetings, training and continuous improvement plans.
• Provide ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement and opportunities.
• Ensure product quality standards and packaging specifications are met.
