Job summary

MSI Express, a single-source contract manufacturing and packaging company, seeks a Plant Leader to direct profit, costs, service and performance at the Portage facility. You will maintain customer relationships, oversee assets, inventory and personnel, and drive continuous improvement in safety and quality.

The role requires experience managing salaried and hourly teams, developing site budgets, and implementing performance metrics to meet company standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across plant operations including safety, quality, maintenance.
• Experience developing and managing site budgets and resources.
• Strong track record in meeting customer expectations for accuracy, quality and timeliness.
• Experience managing salaried and hourly staff and driving performance through PM tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop metrics and monitor plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to plant in safety, sanitation, quality, customer service, and maintenance.
• Develop and manage site budget within corporate guidelines.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for accuracy and timeliness.
• Communicate company policies clearly to all staff.
• Foster a positive working environment and respect for staff.
• Lead management team to set and achieve plant goals and standards.
• Develop managers through performance management practices.
• Monitor performance and implement timely improvement actions.
• Oversee food safety and quality within influence and report issues promptly.
• Ensure resources support Food Safety Management System development and maintenance.
• Appoint an SQF Practitioner with defined responsibility and authority.
• Ensure staff report food safety issues and responsibilities are documented.
• Review food safety plans whenever processes change that could affect safety and quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
