Job summary

Distinctive Living seeks a Director of Plant Operations for its New Jersey properties. The role oversees maintenance, housekeeping, and ongoing upkeep, coordinating with management and suppliers to keep communities safe and well-maintained.

The position requires strong leadership, budgeting, and regulatory compliance skills, with a focus on ensuring move-in readiness and safety across all equipment and systems.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; degree preferred in business or related field.
• Minimum three years’ maintenance/staff experience.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and company regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees preventative maintenance programs for building systems (HVAC, fire alarm, generators).
• Prioritizes work orders and coordinates resources to address resident needs.
• Manages staff, budgets, and ensures move-in/move-out readiness.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
• Leads hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations for maintenance and housekeeping teams.
