Job summary

Enviva, a leader in renewable wood bioenergy, seeks an Operations Manager to guide the plant leadership team, work with regional staff, and uphold OEMS execution. The role reports to the Plant Manager and focuses on safe operations, budgeting, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field, with 5+ years in manufacturing operations, including 24/7 environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant discipline is required.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive Operations management experience in manufacturing.
Experience managing operations in a 24/7 business.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
Know-how in safety, quality, productivity, inventory control, and stewardship processes.
Proven leadership, decision-making, and people management skills.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment meeting OSHA and company requirements.
Plan, organize, and optimize day-to-day plant operations.
Develop a culture of Operational Excellence via OEMS.
Partner with Human Capital to recruit, manage, and develop line leaders and managers.
Coach and train direct reports to ensure proper development.
Improve KPIs and production efficiency while controlling costs.
Prepare plant budgets and forecast production and spending.
Drive profitability by maximizing asset capacity and managing risks.
Analyze data to track productivity, standards, and performance targets.
Allocate resources and ensure optimal asset utilization.
Provide strategic direction and accountability for the team.
