Job summary

CMC is seeking a hands-on team member in Durant, OK to support production and maintenance operations across our steel and reinforcement processes. You will help ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, operating forklifts and cranes, and collaborating with melt shop personnel to keep equipment running smoothly.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and cost-conscious performance, with opportunities for training and advancement within a Fortune 500 company culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of department experience in a hands-on environment.
• Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to use measuring devices (tapes, micrometer, calipers).
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and all safety policies and regulations.
• Team player with strong work ethic, attention to detail and root-cause problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime, including during emergencies, and outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety-first attitude and hold the crew to it.
• Ensure the crew produces the best quality bar possible.
• Maintain focus on cost, waste reduction and efficiency.
• Communicate shift information, production issues, and opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity and uptime.
• Monitor staffing, coordinate coverage, and operate mobile equipment.
• Operate cross-functional machine tasks to support workflow.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Train team members on equipment and keep area clean and organized.
• Collaborate with melt shop personnel on equipment operation and performance.
