48forty Solutions in Lubbock, TX offers a DoD SkillBridge Internship for an Assistant Plant Manager. You’ll assist in managing total plant operations and deliver customer satisfaction by driving safety, service, quality, and cost.

As a working manager, you will oversee production, scheduling, and staffing, participate in cost-control, and support compliance with OSHA and other regulations. Eligible interns may transition to full-time benefits and competitive pay after the internship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory role.
• Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation.
• Strong people management capabilities.
• Experience managing safety programs.
• Understanding of supply chain metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing total plant operations and drive safety, quality, and cost outcomes.
• Manage production employees and oversee schedules.
• Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager.
• Support recruiting and staff development.
• Direct employment decisions at the facility.
• Help ensure policy compliance and cost-control initiatives.
• Improve transportation scheduling and driver management.
