48forty Solutions in Hammond, LA is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a DoD SkillBridge internship. You will assist in managing total plant operations, aiming for exceptional safety, service, quality, and cost outcomes, and will support plant leadership when they are unavailable.

You will supervise production staff, oversee schedules, and provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, with responsibility for employment decisions and policy compliance.

Qualificações

• Active-duty DoD SkillBridge participant required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory role.
• Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the work of all production employees.
• Oversee production and shipping schedules based on raw/finished goods availability.
• Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager.
• Directly responsible for all employment decisions at the facility.
• Support plant administration to ensure compliance with policies.
• Responsible for cost and yield performance in partnership with the Plant and P&L.
• Support cost-control initiatives and process control.
• Review operations and local transportation to stay compliant with laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD).
• Drive safety improvements across the Plant.
• Maintain quality and raw material utilization standards.
