Job summary

Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast is seeking a proactive Plant Operations Leader to oversee maintenance, repairs, and preventive programs across the community. You will ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with life-safety regulations while guiding a team of facilities and housekeeping staff.

Ideal candidates have healthcare or senior living maintenance experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to residents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in plant operations or facility maintenance, in a leadership role (healthcare or senior living preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Understanding of OSHA, fire safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to serving seniors with respect and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, housekeeping, and overall physical plant operations to ensure a safe, clean, attractive environment for residents, visitors, and team members.
• Perform or coordinate general building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and other facility-related repairs and services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs for all building systems, equipment, grounds, and mechanical assets, ensuring timely identification and resolution of maintenance concerns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, life safety, fire safety, and assisted living regulations, including emergency preparedness and disaster response procedures.
• Oversee community safety initiatives, resident emergency response systems, incident reporting, safety committee activities, and maintenance of required safety documentation and records.
• Manage maintenance contracts, vendor relationships, landscaping services, and outsourced providers to ensure quality performance and cost-effective service delivery.
• Maintain departmental budgets, invoices, supplies, purchased services, and labor expenses while promoting operational efficiency and responsible stewardship of community resources.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate Plant Operations and Housekeeping team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, customer service, and teamwork.
• Collaborate with community leadership and department managers to support resident satisfaction, operational excellence, community events, and organizational goals.
