Job summary

Extended Care Clinical, LLC is seeking a dependable, hands-on Plant & Facilities Technician to help keep our buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, functional, and well maintained at our Evanston location. You will handle maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, and various facility projects throughout the year.

The role involves routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other systems.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, landscaping, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a safe and professional environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel between company locations as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the Support Office located in Evanston, IL.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, doors, fixtures, appliances, and building systems.
  • Complete daily interior and exterior facility rounds and identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintain offices, restrooms, common areas, mechanical spaces, and exterior areas in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, equipment installation, and facility projects.
  • Perform seasonal landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, planting, mulching, and cleanup.
  • Perform snow and ice removal from parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and other designated areas.
  • Safely operate and maintain snow removal, landscaping, and maintenance equipment.
  • Monitor weather conditions and respond to significant snow and ice events, including occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday work.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers when specialized work is required.
  • Respond to urgent facility issues and help minimize interruptions to daily operations.
  • Travel to other company locations approximately 20% of the time for inspections, maintenance, repairs, and other facility needs.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.

$21.00–$24.00 per hour | Full-Time

Extended Care Clinical, LLC is looking for adependable, hands‑on Plant & Facilities Technicianto help keep our buildings, grounds, and equipment safe, functional, and well maintained.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.

  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, push, and pull.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Safely climb ladders and use hand and power tools.

  • Operate maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal equipment.

  • Work outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, wet, and snowy conditions.

  • Respond to seasonal weather events and occasional after-hours facility needs.
