Job summary

Greenwood Care Inc. in Evanston, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role. The position offers an hourly rate of $19.50 plus benefits and a Wednesday-Sunday 9am-5pm schedule, with on-call responsibilities.

This is a union position within a specialized mental health rehabilitation facility. TheMaintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Director and perform routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety checks throughout the facility, both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of general maintenance, building operations and/or housekeeping experience.
• Understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC building systems.
• Skills in minor carpentry, painting, drywall patching, and changing light fixtures.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, trash disposal, lawn care, and maintaining property curb appeal.
• Ability to safely use power tools.
• Previous experience in a residential health care setting is a plus.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot emergencies or urgent repairs.
• Make all necessary repairs as needed.
• Complete daily work orders.
• Ensure maintenance of electricity, plumbing and equipment.
• Inspect and repair damages to building surfaces and paint as necessary.
• Check and replace filters.

Greenwood Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility, in Evanston, IL, Seeks a

Maintenance Technician. This is a Full Time Opportunity, with an Hourly Rate of $19.50, Plus Benefits.

The Schedule is Wednesday - Sunday, from 9am-5pm. The Role will involve On Call Responsibilities.

The Maintenence Technician will work under the Supervision of the Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

• Troubleshoot any emergencies or urgent repairs
• Make all necessary repairs as needed
• Complete daily work orders
• Ensure the proper maintenance of electricity, plumbing and all equipment
• Inspect and repair all damages to building surfaces, painting as necessary
• Check and replace filters
• Install appliances and equipment
• Work indoors and outdoors as needed
• Adhere to quality standards of health and safety regulations
• Will be on call occasionally

Requirements

of the Maintenance Technician:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
• At least one or more years of general maintenance, building operations and/or housekeeping experience
• Understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) building systems.
• Skills in minor carpentry, painting, patching drywall, and changing light fixtures
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, trash disposal, lawn care, and maintaining property curb appeal
• Ability to safely use power tools
• Previous experience in a residential health care setting a plus
• Good communication skills a must
• Able to work well independently
