Job summary

The Ground Up is seeking a Nursery Associate to support retail and wholesale nursery operations in Houston. You will assist customers, care for plants, and help keep the environment clean, organized, and safe in a fast-paced outdoor setting.

Responsibilities include loading plants, operating delivery vehicles where applicable, and performing daily nursery maintenance while collaborating with a team. Weekdays with rotating Saturdays and safety focus are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of outdoor work experience.
• Ability to read and write legibly.
• Basic mathematic skills and strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work required shift hours, including Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays.
• Reliable transportation and a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with nursery, floral, garden, plant, and landscape product inquiries and purchases.
• Load customer vehicles with plants, bulk materials, gravel, bases, and stones.
• Operate company trucks with utility trailers and mini dumps (for candidates with driving duties).
• Perform daily nursery maintenance including sweeping, raking, shoveling, pruning, and hand-watering.
• Load and unload delivery trucks, trailers, and semis; maintain a clean, organized nursery area.
