Job summary

Southern States Cooperative is hiring for a Plant Nursery Customer Service Associate to assist garden center patrons with plant selection and care. You will help maintain healthy plant material, answer questions, and recommend additional products to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include stocking, deadheading, watering, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping environment. Prior retail experience and knowledge of local growing conditions are preferred; HS diploma

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• At least 1 year retail customer service experience.
• Knowledge of plant care and local growing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service in the plant nursery.
• Maintain health and appearance of plants and assist with selections.
• Unload plants and verify shipment documentation.
• Merchandise plants and maintain neat displays.
• Assist customers with locating items and landscape ideas.
• Explain plant care, pests, and diseases; upsell related products.
• Operate store equipment and ensure safety.
