Job summary

Steel Dynamics is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment on-site in Terre Haute, IN. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, rapid repairs, and reporting unusual machinery behavior to maximize uptime.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding, reading schematics, and experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, along with familiarity with overhead cranes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
• Welding skills and ability to read technical documentation.
• Math skills and knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with alignment and power transmission.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of fire and chemical hazards.
• Experience working on a high bay overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment that has failed.
• Maintain equipment to ensure a trouble-free operation.
• Perform repairs in a quick and safe manner.
• Report any unusual machine action or noise.
• Complete equipment preventive maintenance activities to maximize plant uptime.
