Job summary

First Majestic Silver Corp-Jerritt Canyon Gold in Nevada is seeking a Plant Mechanical Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of fixed-plant and processing facilities within the mining operation. The role focuses on reliability, optimization, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical equipment across crushing, conveying, processing, and material handling systems.

You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering teams to identify

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• PE registration preferred or eligible, depending on role.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience supporting fixed-plant mechanical equipment and processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to mining processing and fixed-plant operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput and reliability.
• Develop engineering calculations, specs, reports, and design documentation.
• Review equipment designs and vendor documentation for reliability.
• Support modifications, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
• Develop and maintain maintenance strategies and spare-parts requirements.
• Lead RCA, FMEA, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Reliability teams to reduce downtime.
