Job summary

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality construction materials in the United States, seeks a Plant Mechanic Supervisor to oversee maintenance across Ready Mix facilities. You will lead a team of mechanics, manage preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.

You will travel between Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia to support multiple plant locations and align maintenance with production goals, driving safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in ready mix plants or heavy industrial environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Supervisory or lead mechanic experience required (3–4 years).
• Travel 20–30% between MD, DC, and VA sites.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and reliability-based practices.
• Experience with conveyors, mixers, batch plants, and aggregate handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical maintenance operations for Ready Mix equipment.
• Minimize downtime with preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting.
• Supervise a skilled team of mechanics and develop their capabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control issues.
• Oversee repair and maintenance of batch plants, conveyors, and motors.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with production goals.
• Ensure all activities comply with OSHA standards and safety policies.
• Maintain maintenance records and equipment histories.
