Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in York, PA, is seeking a Plant Manufacturing Engineer to support Navy Systems production. You will own nonconformance reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to keep workflow uninterrupted while applying lean methods.

Collaborating with engineering, quality, and welding teams, you will drive continuous improvement, ensure standard work is followed, and mentor operators to resolve production issues efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience investigating nonconformances and driving dispositions to completion.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to maintain workflow.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, standard work, and 5S.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production software.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Review, investigate, disposition, and close nonconformances in Area 974.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to keep production moving.
  • Assist production, quality, and support teams to remove obstacles delaying repair or rework.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Welding, and Quality to develop sustainable actions.
  • Provide clear technical guidance to operators and supervisors.
  • Ensure processes, procedures, and standard work are followed; close gaps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process stability, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Support 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document NC investigations, dispositions, actions, and updates with traceability.
  • Analyze NC trends to identify systemic problems and provide feedback.
  • Support changes to processes, equipment, or workflows to enhance reliability and throughput.
