Job summary

MAC Trailer is seeking a Plant Manager to lead welding, fabrication, engineering, and overall manufacturing operations. You will provide advanced technical leadership in steel and aluminum fabrication, MIG/TIG welding, blueprint and CAD interpretation, and weld quality inspection for heavy trailer production.

The role also oversees electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system integration, installation of heavy machinery, and launch of new production lines across facilities while training staff on

Qualifications

• Heavy metal fabrication: blueprint cutting, bending and forming structural steel and aluminum.
• MIG/TIG welding for aluminum and steel trailer frames.
• Weld quality inspection to ensure safety standards and compliance.
• Tooling and fixturing: build, set up and troubleshoot jigs for heavy manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Welding & Advanced Fabrication and ensure quality output.
• Lead CAD & design integration, interpret drawings and provide feedback.
• Manage technical teams, project timelines and deployments across facilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in production.

We are excited to be adding a Plant Manager to the MAC Trailer Team. Our Plant Manager This position is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in welding, fabrication, engineering, equipment installation, and manufacturing operations. The role requires strong hands‑on experience with steel and aluminum fabrication, MIG/TIG welding, blueprint and CAD interpretation, and weld quality inspection.

The position will also support the integration and troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in commercial trailers and manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation and setup of heavy industrial machinery, supporting the launch of new production lines across facilities, and training employees on new equipment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Welding & Advanced Fabrication

• Heavy Metal Fabrication: Extensive expertise in blueprint cutting, bending, and forming structural steel and aluminum.
• MIG/TIG Welding: Deep, practical knowledge of welding processes specifically tailored for aluminum and steel commercial trailer frames.
• Weld Quality Inspection: Ability to visually and structurally evaluate weld integrity to ensure compliance with field safety standards.
• Tooling & Fixturing: Experience building, setting up, and troubleshooting custom jigs and fixtures for heavy manufacturing.

CAD & Design Integration

• Blueprint Interpretation: Advanced ability to read and analyze complex, multi‑layered engineering drawings.
• CAD Software Utilization: Hands‑on experience navigating and manipulating 3D modeling programs (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Design-to-Production Translation: Skill in identifying real‑world manufacturing constraints within a digital CAD design and providing actionable feedback to engineers.
• Vehicle Electronics: Practical understanding of electrical control systems, wiring harnesses, and lighting configurations.
• Fluid Power Systems: Working knowledge of pneumatic plumbing and hydraulic system layouts used in heavy commercial trailers and on equipment.
• System Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and isolate faults across combined electrical and mechanical systems
• Machinery Rigging & Setup: Hands‑on experience overseeing the physical installation, anchoring, and leveling of heavy industrial plant equipment.
• Cross‑Facility Deployment: Ability to coordinate logistics, tooling, and labor to launch new production lines at external manufacturing plants.
• Technical Training: Skill in onboarding and training shop floor operators on newly installed machinery and processes.

Leadership & Operations

• Technical Team Leadership: Proven success managing, mentoring, and scheduling specialized teams of fabricators, welders, and technicians.
• Project Management: Competency in managing timeline dependencies between R&D prototype phases and full‑scale factory rollouts.
