Job summary

MAC Trailer Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a talented engineer to lead the design and verification of liquid tank trailers and components. You will review customer specs, generate robust drawings, and ensure ASME Section VIII compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on design work, collaboration with Sales and Production, and strong experience with SolidWorks, FEA, and ERP systems to drive timely, safe, and compliant solutions for our trailer products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline.
• ASME Section VIII Boiler and Pressure Vessel code knowledge.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• ASME BPVC experience preferred.
• SolidWorks (2D/3D) proficiency.
• FEA or stress analysis experience.
• Knowledge of trailer industry and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Leads engineering review of customer specifications and final drawings.
• Develops designs for complete and complex liquid tank trailers and components.
• Represents ASME Section VIII compliance and certification audits.
• Structures the Bills of Materials for Assemblies and enters them into the ERP.
• Cooperates with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Materials to support schedules.
• Ensures compliance with approved design standards for quality, safety, and constructability.
• Reviews calculations, design models, drawings for quality and accuracy.
• Provide drawings for own designs and coordinate with Designers and Drafters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads engineering review of customer specifications and final drawings.
• Develops designs for complete and complex liquid tank trailers and components.
• Represent ASME Section VIII compliance and certification audits.
• Structures the Bills of Material for Assemblies and enters them into the ERP
• Cooperates and Interacts with Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Materials team to support production schedules.
• Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating
• Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion.
• Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by Designers and Drafters
• Research code issues and ask general questions of code officials.
• Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
• Ability to work overtime and/or weekends to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline.
• Familiar with ASME Section VIII Boiler and Pressure Vessel code requirements.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• ASME BPVC experience preferred.
• Intermediate to Advanced skills using SolidWorks (2D and 3D).
• FEA and/or other Stress Analysis experience.
• Knowledge of trailer industry and regulatory standards and codes a plus.
• Firm understanding of ERP systems required.
