Job summary

Peco Foods, Inc. is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of a large poultry processing facility. You will drive safety, food safety, animal welfare, quality, and productivity across multiple departments and shifts in a union environment.

You will manage budgeting, scheduling, continuous improvement, and staff development while partnering with HR, QA, Safety, Maintenance, and Finance to deliver consistent results.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in progressive manufacturing operations with leadership.
• 5+ years leading managers or supervisors in poultry/meat processing.
• Experience leading a large hourly workforce.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
• Strong leadership in a union environment and union-relations experience.
• Ability to interpret financial and operating data and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Direct plant operations from live receiving through shipping, coordinating production and sanitation.
• Translate business requirements into production schedules and staffing plans.
• Monitor throughput, yield, labor efficiency, downtime, waste, and costs; identify root causes.
• Ensure line speeds, staffing, and equipment support safety, food safety, animal welfare, and inspection requirements.
• Lead safety, food safety, and quality programs; prepare for audits with FSIS involvement.
• Develop and manage the plant operating budget; oversee maintenance coordination.
• Coach department leaders; drive succession planning and accountability.
• Collaborate with HR on staffing, onboarding, and retention; manage union relations.
