Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our plant and underground activities. You will be accountable for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and financial performance, balancing production needs with cost control.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mining/Geology/Engineering, 7–10 years of leadership in mining or heavy manufacturing, and proven ability to develop teams, manage budgets, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Geology, Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering disciplines is highly desired or equivalent work experience.
• Seven to ten years of leadership experience in fast-paced mining/heavy manufacturing environments is required.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and financial statements, including P&L, is required.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certifications are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the most safe, efficient, and economical operation of the plant.
• Manage plant output to maximize reserves and utilize plant assets efficiently.
• Set targets and priorities for the plant to meet KPI goals in mining, production, maintenance, quality and cost.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan and monitor its results monthly and annually.
• Coordinate plant activities with the management team to achieve objectives efficiently.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for plant staff and foster teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
