Job summary

Powertec, Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Plant Manager to provide overall site leadership for its electric motor business. You will align production, engineering and supply chain to ensure on-time delivery, efficiency and sustained improvement across safety, quality and cost.

The role requires Lean/Kaizen/continuous improvement experience, strong communication across leadership levels, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to achieve year‑over‑year gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
• Exceptional communication for varying leadership levels.
• Problem solving skills and outside the box thinking.
• Active listener with ability to motivate, organize, plan and decide.
• Proven track record of leading cross functional teams.
• Lean/Kaizen/Continuous Improvement approach.
• Identify strategic opportunities and sustain changes for year-over-year improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for plant operations with safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory and people objectives.
• Lead, coach and develop the Production Supervisor to strengthen frontline leadership and execution.
• Set plant priorities and escalation processes for effective execution.
• Own plant performance and drive corrective actions when targets are not met.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and leadership to align resources and requirements.
• Champion disciplined use of Lean, visual management and structured problem-solving.
• Develop and execute operational improvement plans to strengthen capacity and reduce waste.
• Lead workforce planning and succession planning for plant leadership.
• Evaluate capacity, staffing, equipment, space and investment needs with justification.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety, quality systems and conduct standards across the plant.
