The Plant Manager II has responsibility for the operations of Potters' Plant, including, in order of priority, the health and safety of employees and personnel, environmental stewardship and legal compliance, high-quality service and products for customers, and the productivity, cost-efficiency, and responsible asset management of the plant. The Plant Manager II also serves as the primary leader at the plant to promote personnel development, optimize organizational culture, and drive performance to achieve short-term and long-term goals.

This position pays $132,700 plus a 10% bonus

Responsibilities
  • Promotes and demonstrates the Potters Operating Philosophy of Safety/Health, Environmental/Regulatory Compliance, Customer/Quality Commitment, and Productivity, Cost Control, and Asset Management within a culture of Continuous Improvement and Respect for Personnel.
  • Develops a vision and strategic direction for the plant aligned with business strategy.
  • Translates strategic plans into daily operational activities.
  • Manages daily plant operations to ensure optimal utilization of personnel and facilities.
  • Communicates issues, problems, or concerns to upper management.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing operations, including machinery, processing, and packaging departments.
  • Prepares annual budgets supporting business initiatives and controls costs.
  • Supports quality assurance and actively promotes the company's vision, mission, and values.
  • Establishes and maintains material replenishment methods, quality standards, and performance metrics.
  • Manages inventory levels and personnel issues, reviews production technology, and oversees equipment maintenance.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and plant policies and procedures.
  • Conducts employee check-ins, recruiting, training, and production meetings.
  • HSE Responsibilities: Encourages professional development, maintains documentation protocols, develops reports, and leads safety initiatives.
  • Analyzes trends, manages inventory, recruits staff, and maintains interaction with direct reports.
  • Creates reports, participates in goal setting, provides leadership and resources for programs, and tracks performance.
  • Encourages teamwork, promotes safety, and demonstrates safety as a top priority.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of operations management experience in manufacturing.
  • Leadership skills for developing employees and teams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures, including OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Budgeting and goal-setting experience.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
