The Plant Manager will oversee production, scheduling, maintenance, safety, and quality, partnering with Engineering and Project Management to optimize flow and capacity. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of leadership in commercial millwork, casework, cabinetry, or wood product manufacturing.
  • Proven track record leading plant operations in a production-driven environment.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen with budgets and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations, including production, scheduling, maintenance, safety, and quality.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across departments.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability throughout the operation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, quality, and margins.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to established quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain manufacturing best practices.
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, and leadership to optimize workflow and capacity planning.
  • Champion workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage plant budgets, KPIs, and operational reporting.

Job description

Micro-Cap Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing commercial millwork and wood product manufacturing company seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its manufacturing operations.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who knows how to build, develop, and inspire high‑performing teams while driving safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

The Plant Manager will have overall responsibility for the leadership, direction, and performance of the manufacturing facility, with oversight across production, scheduling, maintenance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The Role

This position requires more than simply managing day‑to‑day production. Our client is looking for a leader who can raise the standard across the operation, create accountability throughout the organization, and develop the people and processes necessary to support continued growth.

The Plant Manager will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, and company leadership to optimize production flow, capacity, scheduling, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Background
  • 7+ years of leadership experience within commercial millwork, casework, cabinetry, or wood product manufacturing
  • Proven success leading plant operations in a production-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build, coach, and retain high‑performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production flow within a millwork environment
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience managing budgets and performance metrics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
