Job summary

Jobvite, Inc. seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead a shift in our Iowa plant, directing supervisors to meet production volume, quality, and delivery targets.

You will enforce health and safety procedures, collaborate with management to address cost variances, and maintain detailed production records across departments. The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of production and supervisory staff for volume, quality, cost, and schedules.
• Ensure procedures promote health and welfare of employees in the department.
• Analyze operations with management to address cost standards and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate production records.
• Maintain good employee relations and adhere to labor contracts; apply disciplinary measures as needed.
• Utilize corporate scheduling and meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with plant managers to set accountability and performance goals.
• Attend and schedule meetings; report to General Manager on late loads, shortages, overtime, etc.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Job description

Salaried Grade: Type of Position: Hours: 1 st shift

Exempt Full-time Flexible as needed

Duties: Direct management and supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Ensure adherence to procedures that promote the health and welfare of all employees in the department. With appropriate management personnel, study operations where cost standards are not being met to determine causes and apply corrective measures. Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained. Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions; take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required. Utilizing corporate scheduling. Continually meeting customer requirements. In concert with individual plant managers, establish accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation. Attend and schedule appropriate meetings. Accountable to General Manager for late load claims, product shortages, weight deficits, pounds per employee hour, overtime hours, etc. Perform various other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have extensive knowledge of the operation and the industry.
• Previous management experience in meat processing industry preferred.

• Knowledge and technical ski lls in a variety of production jobs.
