Job summary

Tip Top Poultry Inc. in Georgia seeks a proven plant manager to direct operations across safety, environmental, production, maintenance, quality and shipping.

You will coordinate with department managers to achieve manufacturing objectives on time and within budget. You will develop and control profits, plans and budgets, implement cost-effective controls, lead preventative maintenance, and drive continuous process improvement while maintaining plant facilities and cleanliness.

Job description

Direct and manage plant operations for safety, environmental, production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving. Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Develop and control profits, plans, and budget. Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries. Manages capital asset maintenance. Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives. Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs. Leads continual process improvement. Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisor. Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 4 managers and has overall responsibility for 19 salaried employees through those managers. Responsibilities include leadership, employee development, performance management, workforce planning, succession planning, employee relations, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. Managers under this position are responsible for hiring, training, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Five years of plant/general management experience in a poultry slaughter plant manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. Bilingual language skills a plus

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Computer knowledge
• Minimum of five years of supervisory experience
