Job Title: Plant Manager

Location: Sycamore, IL

Salary: $160K- 185K+ 20% Bonus

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Plant Manager to join our client's organization in the Sycamore, IL area.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of plant operations including production, safety, quality, and delivery.
• Champion a safety-first culture, addressing past safety challenges and proactively improving safety systems.
• Manage and mentor a team of 8 direct reports and influence cross-functional teams including HR, maintenance, safety, and finance.
• Foster a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and accountability—no politics, no micromanagement.
• Maintain strong working relationships with the union workforce, ensuring fair and effective labor practices.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and manage overtime.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, construction, and supply chain to ensure seamless delivery and installation of large-scale products.
• Oversee production control and ensure alignment with company financial and operational goals.
• Utilize D365 ERP to manage operations and reporting.
• Partner with HR to forecast staffing needs and ensure the plant is properly resourced.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in heavy manufacturing (machinery, automotive, aerospace, military, etc.).
• Experience managing in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams with integrity, respect, and collaboration.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma is a plus, but not required).
• Experience with production control and cross-functional collaboration.
• Engineering degree preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a similar field
