Job summary

Northwest Frozen LLC is seeking a hands-on plant leader to run daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, output, and team development across shifts. You will report results directly to ownership and drive a culture of accountability.

You will own food safety and quality compliance (HACCP, FDA/USDA, FSSC 22000) and lead continuous improvement, cost control, and timely shipments. This onsite role is based in Des Moines, WA with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in food manufacturing or frozen/cold-chain operations, including 3+ years as plant or operations manager.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and GFSI schemes (FSSC 22000).
• Track record of leading teams across multiple shifts.
• Comfort with ERP/inventory systems and data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, food science, operations or business (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations across production, warehouse and shipping to ensure orders go out on time and to spec.
• Lead, hire, train and develop supervisors and hourly staff across shifts; build a culture of accountability.
• Own food safety and quality compliance (FSSC 22000, HACCP, FDA and USDA requirements) and be audit-ready daily.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics on raw materials, inventory, cold storage and carrier schedules.
• Keep equipment and refrigeration running through preventive maintenance and reduce downtime with the maintenance team.
• Set and track KPIs (throughput, labor, waste, safety) and report to leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement, workplace safety (OSHA) and cost control.

Pay: $185,000 - $215,000 per year, DOE

You'll run the whole plant. Northwest Frozen is a frozen food processing and distribution company, and we need a hands-on leader who owns safety, quality, output and people, and who reports results straight to ownership.
