Description

In this role as a Plant Manager, the individual will be at the helm of a dynamic facility undergoing rapid expansion and restructuring. With the company experiencing exponential annual growth, the primary responsibility of the role will be to lead the transformation of operations to seamlessly integrate volume from acquisitions and insourcing.

Over the next 12 months, production and shipping volumes are set to double, necessitating meticulous planning and execution.

The role of the Plant Manager will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of capacity growth initiatives and the enhancement of work team performance. While investment in new equipment and automation is already underway, their leadership will be crucial in leveraging these resources effectively.

They will be tasked with optimizing processes, streamlining workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to meet escalating production demands. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational efficiency and productivity. Their ability to motivate and empower teams, coupled with their strategic vision, will be instrumental in propelling the facility towards its goals amidst a period of rapid expansion and change.

Position Description

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Provide training, standard operating procedures & systems to reduce employee risk;
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the production team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching;
  • On-Time Delivery: Efficiently allocate resources including manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production targets while minimizing waste and downtime. Execute the production & shipping schedule to ship on-time, in full. Oversee inventory control processes to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts and reduce costs;
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and implementing best practices to drive operational excellence throughout the facility. Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline operations, and enhance productivity. Implement changes as needed to drive efficiency gains

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field;
  • Language proficiency in both English & Spanish preferred
  • Commitment to safety, quality, customer service & continuous improvement;
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment; ? Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement;
  • Knowledge of batch manufacturing processes, including mixing, blending, filling & packaging strongly preferred;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions;
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
  • Sound understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements;
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as ERP systems and production planning tools;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
