Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency, while minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
Increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
Commit to plant safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets.
Address employee issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements if applicable.
Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or related field (Master’s degree ).
Proven work experience as a Plant Manager or similar role (typically 7+ years in manufacturing leadership).
In-depth knowledge of production management, lean manufacturing, and quality control systems.
Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Work Environment:
Primarily based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to industrial equipment and processes.
May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting.
Regular work hours with occasional extended shifts or weekend work as needed.
