Job summary

Winland Foods, Inc. in North East, PA, is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee plant operations on 1st shift with overtime as needed. This role leads lean initiatives, safety, quality and cost performance and drives continuous improvement across the facility.

The ideal candidate has a strong operations background in food manufacturing, a degree in operations/engineering, and 5–8 years of leadership experience, with proven ability to engage employees and manage budgets and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations or engineering with 5+ years in advancing plant leadership roles.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, processing or packaging preferred.
  • Lean/continuous improvement experience strongly desired.
  • Results-driven with motivation to grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of manufacturing experience in plant leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, direct and train employees using Lean principles and formal reviews.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed and promote safety culture.
  • Lead operations strategy to meet performance, quality and safety goals.
  • Drive the continuous improvement program for cost, quality, safety and service.
  • Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets.
  • Utilize OEE, line speed targets and process data to boost productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with plant and corporate procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with functions and suppliers for optimal production resources.
  • Lead meetings to align goals and address operational issues promptly.
  • Drive employee engagement, training and development initiatives.

The Plant Manager manages, directs and coordinates overall plant operations and budget while providing coaching and leadership to team members in the areas of employee engagement, human and food safety, continuous improvement, productivity, quality, cost, and equipment reliability. Success relies on the ability to build relationships and fully engage all employees in business improvement. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, wetness, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations and vapors. Equipment used includes various pumps, valves, piping, hose, tanks, machinery, computers and associated software, control panel, forklifts, hand tools, copy machine, label makers and any equipment identified in the role. Personal protective equipment includes, but is not limited to safety glasses, slip resistant shoes and hearing protection.Employees must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.
