The Plant Manager at the TWA Hotel Flight Energy Center will lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, safety, and administration, to ensure reliable and efficient support of the facility’s energy systems. Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, budget development, contract administration, and continuous improvement of plant performance, while fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. The role also involves stakeholder liaison, personnel development, and contributing to strategic planning and policy implementation.
Safety is a core value. All employees are expected to work safely, with managers playing a key role in safety oversight. Responsibilities include conducting safety meetings, inspections, hazard analysis, safety training, incident response, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.
The Plant Manager reports to the Operations Director, supervises managers, technicians, and administrative staff, and acts as the primary contact between NAES and the Owner regarding plant operations and maintenance.
The role involves standing, climbing, working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a power plant environment with potential hazards and exposure to extreme conditions and hazardous materials. Use of protective equipment is required, and strict safety protocols must be followed.
Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program, including physical exams and drug screening, is mandatory.
Standard hours are Monday to Friday during the day, with occasional extended hours, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
Starting salary ranges from $177,000 to $185,000, including an annual performance bonus.
Ideal candidates will have extensive power plant operations and maintenance experience, a relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and certifications such as a NYC Fire Department Refrigeration Machine Operator license. Prior experience as a Plant Manager, strong leadership, safety, environmental, and financial skills are essential.
