Job summary

DDR Heating, Inc. in Allegan, MI, part of Thermowatt in the Ariston Group, seeks a Plant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at a small manufacturing site. You will ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective plant performance in line with standards and regulations.

You will plan production, manage schedules, coordinate warehousing and maintenance, and lead the site team toward continuous improvement and strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Technical background with 3–4 years in a similar manufacturing role.
• Proficient in Excel and production data analysis.
• Knowledge of Lean, TQM, Kaizen, PDCA and Six Sigma is a plus.
• Strong organizational, planning, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor production aligned to demand and capacity.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget, quality-compliant orders.
• Monitor production, productivity, labor efficiency; adjust as needed.
• Coordinate warehouse, material flow and stock levels.

Electro-Heat Inc., both serving their markets since the late 1950s.
Since 2025, DDR Heating, Inc. has been part of Thermowatt, a division of the Ariston Group, bringing American expertise into a global network.

Reporting to the General Manager, as Plant Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a small manufacturing site, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective plant performance in line with company standards and applicable regulations.

Tasks:

• Plan, schedule and monitor production activities, ensuring alignment between customer demand, manufacturing output, available capacity and delivery commitments.
• Ensure that customer orders are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the required quality standards and operational targets.
• Monitor production processes, productivity, labour efficiency and product standards, adjusting schedules and resources when necessary.
• Coordinate the warehouse and material flow, ensuring adequate stock levels and the timely availability of materials for production.
• Coordinate industrialization activities and support the integration of new products, manufacturing prototypes and new equipment in collaboration with R&D and the relevant functions.
• Select and coordinate production equipment requirements, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities and organize the repair of damaged equipment.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements, company guidelines and applicable regulations, promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
• Monitor quality indicators and support the implementation of corrective actions and quality control initiatives to ensure standards are consistently met.
• Monitor direct and indirect operating costs, contribute to budget preparation and ensure the cost-effectiveness of plant activities.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement actions using Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, PDCA and TQM principles.
• Coordinate regular plant operating meetings and ensure effective collaboration among production, warehouse, industrialization, maintenance and HSE activities.

Your profile:

Our ideal candidate has a technical background and 3/4 years of experience in similar role in a manufacturing company.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ability to work with production data, KPIs and operational reporting.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches, including TQM, Kaizen, PDCA and/or Six Sigma is a plus.
Entrepreneurship, organizational and planning skills, teamwork attitude, flexibility and proactivity will complete the profile.
