Job summary

Liberty Elementary School District 25 seeks a facilities maintenance staff member to keep school buildings and grounds in safe, clean, and attractive condition. The role covers repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, HVAC, and related equipment, with documentation of work and logs maintained for health and safety inspections.

Responsibilities include emergency readiness, event setup, and collaboration with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repairs across trades.
  • Able to relate well to students, staff and parents in a positive manner.
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, HVAC and related maintenance.
  • Maintain logs and preventive maintenance records as assigned.
  • Available for emergencies and able to respond as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the entire site buildings and grounds.
  • Perform repairs and services on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, hardware, landscaping, HVAC, and food service equipment.
  • Keep logs of work performed and monitor preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Cooperate with staff, students and parents in a pleasant, harmonious manner.
  • Notify supervisor/principal/district maintenance of unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain inventory and use of custodial supplies and materials.
  • Set up facilities for rentals and events.
  • Maintain logs such as roof, fire, health and playground inspections and equipment maintenance.
  • Be available when called for emergencies by home or cellular phone.

Job description

2. Good physical health, with ability to lift up to fifty pounds, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, climb ladders and walk for extended periods of time.

3. Relate to the public, staff and students in a positive manner.

4. Experience and ability to perform repairs/pm's in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, HVAC, records management. REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor JOB GOAL: Provide students and staff with a clean, safe, healthy, attractive environment in which to learn and develop and to maintain facilities and records. RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of entire site buildings and grounds.

2. Perform repairs and services on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, hardware, landscaping, HVAC, and food service equipment.

3. Maintains preventative maintenance measures as assigned to change filters, belts, lubrication, etc., on building components, food service equipment, and keep log of work performed.

4. Cooperate with staff, students, and parents in a pleasant, harmonious manner.

5. Notifies maintenance supervisor/principal/district maintenance immediately of any unsafe or hazardous condition.

6. Maintain and monitor inventory and use of all custodial supplies and materials.

7. Set-up facility for rentals, activities, programs, etc.

8. Maintain all logs, i.e.; roof, fire, health and playground inspections, equipment maintenance, DSF preventative maintenance, inventory, and food service equipment, etc.

9. Be available when called for emergencies by a home phone or cellular phone. 10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: Twelve months.
