Direct-Hire | Full-Time

They’re seeking a Plant Manager to lead production strategy, support operational growth, and guide cross-functional teams.

About the Role:

This is a strategic, leadership-focused position—not a day-to-day floor supervisor role. The Plant Manager will be responsible for optimizing production planning, overseeing inventory and materials management, establishing KPIs, and improving processes across departments. You'll serve as the key link between shop floor operations and business management, with functional reporting to the international operations team and local oversight from U.S. leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead production planning and material/stocks coordination in a small-batch assembly environment
• Define and implement KPIs to track performance and drive operational improvements
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, HR, and Accounting to align daily operations with company goals
• Mentor junior staff and help build a sustainable organizational structure
• Play a central role in the selection and implementation of a new ERP system (moving from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics)
• Act as a bridge between production and business functions, ensuring visibility and alignment across the company
  
  

Team Details:

• 2 direct reports:
• Operations Lead (shop floor-focused)
• Logistics and Purchasing Lead
• Team size: ~15 on the production team, 6–8 in office functions
• Work environment: Low-volume, made-to-order mechanical manufacturing with minimal product customization
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• 5–20 years of experience in production or operations management, ideally in OEM, machine building, or small to mid-sized assembly environments
• Strong background in KPI development and performance tracking
• Experience with inventory, material planning, and ERP systems (QuickBooks experience is a plus; Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
• Confident in mentoring junior team members and improving organizational structure
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and data-driven decision-making
• Equally comfortable on the shop floor and in office leadership meetings
• Must live within 30 minutes of Elk Grove Village, IL
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement frameworks
• Experience leading ERP transitions or implementations
