Job DescriptionJob Description

Results oriented food manufacturing and operations professional experienced in managing multiple plant operations including processing and packaging and working cross functionally with support functions including human resources, supply chain management, quality, costs, safety, and maintenance. Familiar with all aspects of cooked bacon manufacturing processing and packaging controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops manufacturing process for cooked bacon operations.

• Leads process for smokehouse operations and controls to attain moisture levels and added substance levels to meet USDA and customer specifications for cooked bacon products.

• Manage manufacturing schedules, inventory of raw materials, in process goods, and customer orders

• Control overhead costs within established budgets

• Analyze and initiate process and cost improvements

• Design work schedules and assess performance of direct reports

• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to all employees

• Communicate with all levels of team members and staff

• Evaluate manufacturing costs and evaluate standards daily

• Follow organization policies and procedures, assure operations adhere to applicable USDA, state and federal laws and regulations.

• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained and enforce all safety policies and procedures.

• Establish appropriate employee training procedures and measures

• Ensure all required record keeping procedures are completed and maintained

• Work with HR team to develop talent and outline succession planning

• Participate in and lead cross functional teams as needed to improve quality, safety, and costs

• Work with sales and customers to promote Fair Oaks Foods, LLC. products and services

• Delegate tasks and requirements for project completion

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the meat processing industry cooked bacon strongly , at least five of which must have been at a management level.

• Demonstrated ability to organize and plan workflow, set priorities and meet deadlines in a project and management context.

• Experience in SAP or other ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite .

• Experience in new operation start up strongly .

• Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written in negotiation, facilitation, report preparation and conflict resolution.

• Sliced bacon experience and experienced in microwave cooking operations.

• Proven understanding of cooked bacon control methods in docking and strapping, press, and slice control to maximize yield optimization.

• Extensive experience with operations, budgeting, variance control and operations.

• Leadership in employee relationship management and development experience.

• Experience with the planning and management of facilities (desirable).

• Experience USDA, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Work is performed in a food processing plant environment with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and industrial machinery.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
