R10068827 Plant Maintenance Technician - Vancouver, WA (Open)

Location: Vancouver, WA (Admin) - Management

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Repairs and maintains facility, machinery, buildings, and equipment used in compressing and liquefying gases. Partners with internal and external customers to answer technical questions with Airgas equipment. Responsible for keeping the plant in compliance with all FDA, Safecor, and DOT regulations.

Location: Brush Prairie

Pay Range: $30/hr - $36/hr plus bonus

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
  2. Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs bulk tanks, valves, and cryogenic pumps; performs operational tests after installation.
  3. Operates and maintains equipment for pumping or re packaging gases into cylinders.
  4. Inspects and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and monitoring devices.
  5. Answers technical questions from internal or external sources.
  6. Reports any accidents or injuries promptly to management.
  7. Conducts periodic safety and operational checks of the plant.
  8. Operates warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  9. Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
  10. Travels to customer sites to work on equipment as needed.
  11. Repairs and maintains plant equipment including compressors, scrubbers, and electrical systems, following blueprints and schematics.
  12. Tests equipment to identify issues using standard meters.
  13. Dismantles equipment using hand and power tools.
  14. Performs welding, brazing, and soldering as needed.
  15. Replaces pipes and equipment using pipefitting tools.
  16. Adjusts electrical components and repairs control panels, motors, switches, and other electrical devices.
  17. Operates metalworking tools for part fabrication and repairs.
  18. Changes filtration materials as required.
  19. Ensures all duties are performed in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  20. Maintains professional personal and vehicle appearance.
  21. Performs any other reasonable work requests within qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of arc and gas welding experience; two years preferred. Competent in plumbing, carpentry, and masonry.
  • Experience with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps, and drives in an industrial setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift very heavy weights (25-170 pounds routinely, over 100 pounds occasionally).
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in temperatures from -10 to over 110 degrees.
