Job summary

Knife River is seeking a Maintenance role to perform necessary upkeep on Ready Mix Plants across North Dakota, with overnight travel required. This position focuses on preventing downtime and ensuring reliable plant operation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with trade/technical training and 5+ years of mechanical/electrical experience, plus valid licensure, medical card and driving record. Safety and teamwork are essential in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field.
• 5+ years mechanical and electrical experience.
• Ability to provide and maintain licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the maintenance of all Ready Mix plant and equipment including the setup of new or temporary plant operations.
• Plans and coordinates schedule of preventative maintenance.
• Maintains inventory of parts and equipment and requisitions replacement stock.
• Estimates costs of personnel, parts and supplies to be used during maintenance.
• To keep equipment running and maintained properly to maximize production and quality.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
• Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance, Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Back-up plant operator and performs other duties as assigned.
