Job summary

Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Arcola IL, seeks a Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing and distribution facility. You will perform daily PMs, diagnose and repair sewing machines, air compressors, and conveyors, and participate in facility upgrades.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work offsite/onsite trainings, and a willingness to be on-call for alarm systems.

Qualifications

• : Associate degree strongly preferred; in lieu of degree, mechanical/electrical experience will be considered.
• : Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• : Able to read and interpret diagrams and schematics.
• : Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Daily PM’s on machines and facilities as scheduled.
• Machine diagnostic and repair (sewing machines, air compressors, conveyor systems).
• Facility maintenance including light fixture repairs, pallet rack repair, etc.
• Collaborate with other departments to determine solutions to issues.
• Fabrication for small projects to expand current capabilities.
• Building system infrastructure inspections and repairs as needed.
